It's been a long time....

I didn't realize how long it's been since I've written. I have had soooo much going on. Along with trying to deal with daily migraines and letting my doctors figure out why I am having so much anxiety...and trying med. after med to help....Has not been fun. I have however crocheted a couple of things since my last post. I made my son and daughter each a blanket, and have started another one...although, I'm not sure who it's for yet! Anyway, I will post some pics as soon as I can...and hopefully be able to write a little more often...could use it as a therapy, to get things off my mind.

It's finished!!!

I have finally completed the warm waves ripple. Came out nice, I think. It is huge....finished dimensions are 68" x 78". Suitable for a queen size bed. My husband has claimed it for himself, so that tells me he likes it! I will hopefully get some pics up later. I have also started a couple other afghans...need to get pics of those too!

I started a new ripple!!

I finally decided to do susan b's easy ripple pattern (freepattern) and picked out some colors. I chose a color combo that is not really "me" but after making so many afghans you have to kinda think outside the box! I like it so far. Works up really fast...already have 12 rows done!!!

Still have 13 rows left on the soft waves ripple. My husband has claimed it for himself. He's so funny, half the time he has no idea what I'm working on...but every once and a while he'll throw his 2 cents in, either about colors, pattern or shape and size. I actually like when he does it, proves that he really is paying attention to me even if I don't realize it.

Anyway, I'm going to try to go to sleep...the worst part of the night!!

At work...

Not much going on at work today sooo... I'm trying to decide what to crochet next...I am almost done with my warm waves ripple...about 20 rows left, and now I'm only working on it at night due to the size of it, to big to travel. I'm contemplating the harlequin stitch vs. another ripple of some sort??? Hopefully I will make a decision and be able to sneak out of work to pick up some yarn...my other dilema...what colors to use....hmmm??? Happy Valentines Day to all...didn't realize it was today until about 7:00 last night. So I was totally not prepared. Have to pick up something for the kids and hubby. Believe it or not, my husband not only remembered but knows what he wants to get me!!! And I got a text from him this am saying Happy V Day, luv ya!!! It was very sweet! Anyway, once I figure out what I am going to make next I'll get it posted and hopefully I can get a good start on it so I can post some pics....

Update

My neice loved the scarf....so did all the in-laws. Both SIL's want to learn how to crochet which I am very excited about. I love teaching/helping any who asks. My mom and sister both know how to crochet but usually need help when starting a new pattern which I love doing. I'm hoping we can plan a girls night with my MIL, 2 SIL's and 2 neices and kinda have a "crochet night". With 2 kids and a husband who works a crazy schedule I don't get much time to myself, so I would love for something like this to work out...Even if it is only once in a great while!!

I am anxiously awaiting a meeting with my son's teacher. She sent a note home the end of last week for me to call her to "discuss Tyler's progress", and when I did, she said she would rather meet to go over whats working and what's not!! I plan on going tom. afternoon. I am very very concerned with him and his behavior. I am seriously considering ADD, which I hate to even admit but I can't stay in denial any longer. At the same time he is only 6 and I don't know if he is just a "typical boy". Either way I plan on discussing it with his teacher and his doctor when I take them for their physicals next month. He is extremely smart and can do anything he "wants" to do. But he has a very hard time concentrating on anything for more than a minute, He can't sit still, he has a wicked temper, and still to this day does not sleep through the night. So we shall see. I'm hoping we can come to a solution sooner than later. I hate the thought of him struggling in school...especially knowing that he is more than capable. It's almost like he fights with himself, he wants to succeed but something in his head stops him.

I'm being a night owl

Again...I have such a hard time going to sleep at night it is ridiculous. Partially I think because it's my quite time...and I need as much of that as I can get, and for some reason I have a very hard time falling asleep if my husband is already sleeping. Can't really say why, other than I feel safer closing my eyes knowing that he is still awake...or maybe I'm just crazy, who knows!!! He gets up at 4am for work so I can't really blame him for being asleep by 9:30 most nights. Just wish I could lay down and fall asleep without a million things running through my head...good or bad!

Anyway, I made a scarf for my neice who turned 14 this week...

I will give it to her tom. Going to my MIL's to have a little party for her.

I am also on row 58 of my soft waves ripple...that thing is going to be huge...plenty big enough for a queen size bed. I will post pics probably when it's done. Going to work on it some more now before I battle myself to sleep!!!

of myself for figuring out how to add a pic in my header...lol! I have some new ripples that I'm working on...will get some pics posted probably tom. The last ripple I started I ended up scrapping...colors weren't working for me. I have 2 that I have since started...The soft waves out of the 200 ripple stitch pattern book and my first round ripple...I also started a thermal baby blanket the other day. My plan is to get my christmas list of who and what done...I'm determined to start early and make as many crocheted gifts as possible this year!! So we shall see how I do.

some completed afghans

I gave this one to my Aunt / Godmother. Love the colors...although the off white stripe was supposed to be in the center...had no idea that I skipped it and by the time I realized it was way to late to rip out. Came out pretty good considering the mistake!!


This is my most recent completed afghan. I gave it to a co-worker and his wife for Christmas. I really really liked this pattern. Very easy to do and works up really fast.



I made this one for my hubby. He was whining that out of all the afghans I've made, I have never made one for him!!! I have actually made 3 in this same pattern with different colors. Which is very unlike me...I usually look for something new and different to work on. My mother in law does this stitch and only this stitch...She has made 26 afghans in this pattern!!! All absolutely gorgeous!

Newest ripple

Here is my newest ripple project. I have been driving myself crazy for days trying to come up with colors...and this is what I ended up with. I started this last night and I'm pretty happy with it. Can't wait til tonight when the kids are in bed so I can work on it some more. My husband is working late too, and although I miss him, it will give me a little extra time to work on it.
